What Happens Before You Hit the Water at WWA
Long before your raft reaches the river, there’s a full day of activity happening behind the scenes at White Water Adventurers (WWA) to get everything ready for your trip.
It starts early for our guides. When they arrive for their assigned trips, they review the day’s manifests to confirm guest counts and check for any important notes about the groups they’ll be taking out. From there, preparation ramps up quickly—rafts are inflated and moved to the staging area, while life jackets, helmets, and paddles are carefully counted, checked, and organized.

At the same time, vehicles are transported to the take-out point at the end of the river, and passenger buses and vans are put into place so everything is lined up for a smooth return after your trip.
We work hard to make check-in as simple as possible for you. One of the biggest helps is completing your waivers ahead of time. Arriving already dressed in river-ready clothing also keeps things quick and easy so you can get straight to the experience.
Once your group checks in, you’ll meet your guide and get fitted for your life jacket and helmet. It’s also a great moment for photos—just know river gear isn’t exactly designed for glamour, but it is designed for a good time.
After everyone is geared up, the group heads to the staging area for a full orientation. Your guide will walk you through paddling basics, what to expect on the river, and how the trip will unfold so everyone feels ready for what’s ahead.

Then comes the first team moment of the day: carrying your raft down to the river. Everyone pitches in as you make your way to the boat launch—a little effort that builds excitement for what’s next.

And then everything comes together. The raft hits the water, the river takes over, and the laughter, energy, and memories begin.
Because everything that happens before you launch is really about one thing—getting you into the river so you can focus on the adventure.
