Standard Middle Yough Rental Package

Create your own adventure with White Water Adventurers’ equipment rental on Middle Yough. This section of the river is perfect for families with younger children (minimum age of 5) as well as rafters of all ages looking for a scenic Pennsylvania rafting experience. The Middle Yough is an excellent section if you are looking for a peaceful getaway in Ohiopyle, PA away from the crowds and stresses of the outside world.
Pack a picnic lunch to enjoy along the shore surrounded by the silence of the mountains.
Convenient times are offered daily. Your package includes rafts (four- to six-person) or (one to two-person) inflatable kayaks, paddles, life jackets, helmets, and transportation to the river.
Leave the noise of the city behind as you lose yourself in the serenity of the beautiful Laurel Highlands Region. Keep an eye out for animals such as raccoons, ducks, river otters, deer, and bald eagles as you paddle your way back to Ohiopyle.

This section is Class I (Easy) Fast-moving current with small waves and few obstructions that are easily avoided. Low-risk.

The Middle Yough runs from April – October. Middle Yough is dam controlled and kept at a fairly constant level. Late summer can get a little shallow. It is recommended to keep boats as light as possible. You might consider single or double inflatable kayaks

The Middle Yough Trip runs for 11 miles. Expect your trip to take between three and a half to five hours on the water plus transportation.

This trip option does NOT include a guide. It is a self-guided tour. Please note that you are responsible for all equipment and its safe return. Additional fees will apply if equipment is not returned on time, is returned damaged, or requires retrieval by White Water Adventurers staff.

Please exit the river when you see the sign for the Middle Yough take out. You will need to carry your equipment up the hill to the parking area. Please put your craft in the White Water Adventurers truck parked in the parking lot. Keep your life jacket, paddles, and helmets and walk the couple of blocks across town to the White Water Adventurers outpost at 6 Negley St Ohiopyle PA.

No. All activities run regardless of the weather conditions unless we deem conditions to be unsafe. River activities still go in case of thunderstorms as well. We monitor river conditions constantly. We reserve the right to reschedule any trip to an alternate type of trip (fully guided), an alternate section of the river or to a different river if conditions warrant. We may also change the length of the trip, raft size or number of guests per raft. If we must cancel a trip due to conditions, a full refund will be given.

Please note that when you make a reservation, we forfeit the right to sell your spaces to others.
You may receive a 90% refund if you cancel at least 15 days prior to trip. Refunds do not include the convenience fee amount for online booking as this is remitted to a Third Party processor. Reservations made less than 15 days prior to trip date are nonrefundable, once payment is received. We regret that we cannot make exceptions for personal emergencies, late arrivals, or inclement weather.

Add trip protection for 10% extra on your rafting trip. Cancel up to 48 hours before with a full refund, minus the trip protection and booking fee. NOTE: TRIP PROTECTION CANNOT BE ADDED AFTER CHECKOUT. It doesn’t cover cancellations within 48 hours, late arrivals, no shows, or inclement weather.

When renting equipment for the Middle Yough, a launch permit is not required. This is the opposite of the Lower Yough, where a launch permit is required.
Call White Water Rentals (724-329-8850) to reserve your choice of equipment or reserve online above. Please forward the link on your confirmation to everyone in your group to complete your waivers electronically.
On the day of your trip, arrive at White Water Adventurers’ office 30 minutes prior to your scheduled time. This will allow you enough time to obtain a PFD. If you have any items you are taking with you, coolers, fishing equipment, etc, please have that with you and ready to go.
From there, a member of our rental staff will load your equipment onto the equipment truck for you and transport it to the Middle Yough put-in, roughly 10 miles away in Confluence. PA. FREE transportation of your group is provided in your equipment rental cost by White Water Adventurers. You will then proceed down the river at your own pace (approx. 4 hrs).
After traveling 10 miles down the Middle Yough you will arrive back in Ohiopyle. You will notice large signs on the river-left informing you of the Middle Yough take-out. This is where you will exit the river.
Carry your craft up the hill to the parking lot. Leave the craft at the White Water Adventurers vehicle in the parking lot and walk your party with life jackets and paddles across town to our main office location (about 2 blocks).

White water rafting is a physically demanding activity; including some dangers and inherent risks. Special safety equipment must be worn in order to participate. The equipment does not fit all body shapes and sizes. Please consider all aspects of your physical condition before making reservations. We can assume no responsibility for personal safety or loss of personal property. We will ask you to sign a liability release/assumption of risk form before you make the trip. All minors must have permission from a parent or legal guardian written on our standard release form. You travel at your own risk. No drugs or alcohol are permitted. We reserve the right to refuse service (with no refund) to anyone we deem unfit to participate in white water rafting. We are not responsible for any lost or stolen items while visiting White Water Adventurers, Inc.

Your rafting package for a Middle Yough equipment rental includes your choice of raft, inflatable kayak, or PPB, helmet, life jacket, paddle, and FREE shuttle transportation upstream to the put in area.

Children under 5 years of age are not permitted on this rafting option. We do monitor waivers prior to guest arrival. We reserve the right to refuse service with no refund if we discover a participant under minimum age. Please don’t disappoint your child by scheduling them for an inappropriate section.
