OHIOPYLE STATE PARK


Ohiopyle State Park, located in Fayette County Pennsylvania, is over 19,000 acres of beautiful forests, relaxing waterfalls, and some of the best white water on the east coast. Located at the heart of Ohiopyle State Park is Ohiopyle Falls, a 19 foot high waterfall stretching all the whole way across the Youghiogheny River, which flows through the park. There are observation decks overlooking the falls in the day use area.

The day use area is the central point for the casual visitor to the park. You will find restrooms, a gift shop and parking there. There are many activities for the whole family in Ohiopyle State Park. The park is best known for it’s White Water Rafting. There are almost 20 miles of the Youghiogheny River that can be rafted from the park, including the Lower and Middle Sections. Hiking and biking are always very popular activities at Ohiopyle. There are over 27 miles of biking trails and 13 miles of hiking trails within the park, including the Youghiogheny River Trail, which follows the Youghiogheny River, offering spectacular views of the river and it’s many rapids. Ohiopyle also has some of the best fishing around, with brown trout, and small mouth bass being plentiful throughout the river.
