Embark on an unforgettable 3–5 hour rafting adventure along the Youghiogheny River Gorge in Ohiopyle, Pennsylvania. Paddle 11 scenic miles through the heart of the Allegheny Mountains, surrounded by lush forests and dramatic cliffs. Along the way, spot local wildlife, from deer and river otters to soaring bald eagles, as your professional guides highlight nearby landmarks such as Cucumber Falls and the historic Ohiopyle Falls. This section is Class I (Easy) Fast-moving current with small waves and few obstructions that are easily avoided. Low-risk.

The Middle Yough runs from April – October. Middle Yough is dam controlled and kept at a fairly constant level. Late summer can get a little shallow. It is recommended to keep boats as light as possible. You might consider single or double inflatable kayaks.

The Middle Yough Trip runs for 11 miles. Expect your trip to take between three and a half to five hours on the water plus transportation..

During high water situations, a guide is in every boat. At normal water levels, the guides are nearby in rafts and kayaks.

No. All activities run regardless of the weather conditions unless we deem conditions to be unsafe. River activities still go in case of thunderstorms as well.
We recommend that if you’re concerned about the weather you check the forecast the day before your tour so that if you don’t want to risk riding in the rain, you can call us to reschedule before the 24 hour deadline. If you call less than 24 hours before the tour, you can cancel your tour but you’ll not receive a refund, as noted in our cancelation policy.
We monitor river conditions constantly. We reserve the right to reschedule any trip to an alternate section of the river or to a different river if conditions warrant. We may also change the length of the trip, raft size or number of guests per raft. If we must cancel a trip due to conditions, a full refund will be given.

**Refundable Ticket**
Cancellation: 90% refund if canceled up to **14 days** prior to trip. Refunds do not include the convenience fee amount for online booking as this is remitted to a Third Party processor.
Rebooking: One free rebooking up to 24 hours before the trip. All rebooked trips become nonrefundable.All cancellation requests must be submitted in writing at least 14 days prior to trip. Reservations made within 14 days are not eligible for a refund.
**Non-Refundable Ticket:**
Cancellation: NO REFUNDS Trip protection does not apply to non-refundable tickets.

If you purchased trip protection, your cancellation window has been extended up to 48 hours before the start of the trip. You’ll be fully refunded for the ticket (minus the trip protection and fees). We regret that we cannot make exceptions for personal emergencies, late arrivals, or inclement weather.*
**What if we cancel?**
We reserve the right to cancel for any reason, including, but not limited to, weather, river conditions, passenger count, mechanical issues, safety for you, our guests, and our crew. We’ll do our best to reschedule your trip based on availability or you’ll be issued a gift card to return another time.

It doesn’t cover cancellations within 48 hours, late arrivals, no shows, or inclement weather.

We ask all guests to arrive promptly at the scheduled trip meeting time listed on your confirmation. It is your responsibility to arrive on time and we reserve the right to leave at our scheduled departure time. There will be no refunds given for guests that are more than 30 minutes late or that do not arrive for their scheduled trip.

White water rafting is a physically demanding activity; including some dangers and inherent risks. Special safety equipment must be worn in order to participate. The equipment does not fit all body shapes and sizes. Please consider all aspects of your physical condition before making reservations.
Additional considerations:
- Your white water rafting adventure will take place in strong sunlight. Please bring plenty of sun block. For guests with light sensitivities, have a strong pair of sunglasses.
- Life jackets are sanitized after every trip, however, they do carry an odor which can be offensive to individuals with a sensitivity to strong smells.
- The Middle Youghiogheny River flows close to a railroad line. There can be loud noises as trains go by. In addition, we do not stop our trips if a storm pops up. While storms usually do not last long in our area, the thunder can be quite loud.
- All guests must wear a life jacket and helmet that is fitted snugly to your body. For guest safety, these items may not be loosened or removed.
- You will be rafting through a remote wilderness area. Access and take-out points are limited. There is no way stop the trip once you are on the water. You are committed to the full journey.
We can assume no responsibility for personal safety or loss of personal property. We will ask you to sign a liability release/assumption of risk form before you make the trip. All minors must have permission from a parent or legal guardian written on our standard release form. You travel at your own risk. No drugs or alcohol are permitted. We reserve the right to refuse service (with no refund) to anyone we deem unfit to participate in white water rafting. We are not responsible for any lost or stolen items while visiting White Water Adventurers, Inc.

Children under 5 years of age are not permitted on this section. We do monitor waivers prior to guest arrival. We reserve the right to refuse service with no refund if we discover a participant under minimum age. Please don’t disappoint your child by scheduling them for an inappropriate section.

Each raft holds up to 6 people. We run multiple rafts per availability.
If you have more than 6 people, we are happy to take your group, but they will be in more than 1 raft. If you have less than 6 people, you will be riding with random other people.

Absolutely! When you are making your reservation, simply reserve for a party of 6. You’ll have the raft for yourself, even if you arrive with fewer people. Keep in mind that there are no refunds for unused seats.

Probably. Seats on the rafts are on a first-come, first-served basis. If we have the capability of letting you ride on the same raft as your friend who has their own reservation, we’ll be happy to set that up for you. You need to call us at 724-329-8850 to let us know, however. If you don’t call us, we’ll have no clue that you want us to put you together, if it’s even possible. If you’re trying to ride with someone who already has a reservation, the easiest way to ensure you’re all together – if we have the seats available – is to have the person who’s already booked a tour call us and add however many people are in your group to their reservation.
